A heartfelt tribute to the iconic late actor Nagabhushanam has been immortalized in the book ‘Raktakaneeru’ Nagabhushanam, penned by senior journalist Udayagiri Fayaz. The book, which chronicles the life, illustrious cinematic journey, and multifaceted personality of the actor renowned for breathing life into countless roles, was launched by the esteemed Natakireeti Dr. Rajendra Prasad at his residence. The intimate event was graced by the author Fayaz, Nagabhushanam’s eldest son Raghavarao, eldest daughter Malleeswari, son-in-law Arun Kumar, Rahil Taj, and other family members.
Reflecting on the significance of the moment, Dr. Rajendra Prasad shared, “Today feels incredibly special. By divine grace, I was born into the family of the legendary N.T. Rama Rao and had the privilege of meeting numerous great individuals, among whom Nagabhushanam holds a unique place. What resonates deeply with me about ‘Raktakaneeru’ Nagabhushanam is that while I transitioned comedy into heroism, he seamlessly infused comedy even into villainous roles. His dubbing prowess was particularly remarkable. His dialogue delivery timing during shoots was so precise that he could replicate it flawlessly in dubbing, even with his eyes closed. He was a phenomenal actor, a product of the stage, who never severed his ties with theater despite his film commitments. One could endlessly recount his extraordinary qualities. Senior journalist Fayaz has beautifully encapsulated these aspects in this book. How will the current generation learn about such senior actors? It is through invaluable works like these. I extend my sincere gratitude to Fayaz for this commendable effort. Launching ‘Raktakaneeru’ Nagabhushanam in the presence of his cherished family is a profound honor for me. I wholeheartedly encourage everyone to read this insightful book.”
Expressing his sentiments, writer Udayagiri Fayaz stated, “Nagabhushanam was not just a great actor; he was an exemplary human being. He led a life of simplicity, yet every facet of it exuded greatness. He was as remarkable a person as he was an actor. To write a book about him is a privilege I deeply cherish, and having it launched by my dear friend Rajendra Prasad has doubled my joy. His family members provided unwavering support throughout the writing process, and I extend my heartfelt thanks to them on this significant occasion.”
