Superstar Ram Charan joined Anil Kamineni, Chairman of the Archery Premier League (APL), and Virender Sachdeva, President of the Archery Association of India, in meeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi to celebrate the successful conclusion of the league’s inaugural edition.
Symbolic Gesture to Honour the Sport
The delegation gifted the Prime Minister a symbolic bow, representing both India’s rich heritage in archery and the APL’s mission to restore the sport’s prominence on national and international platforms. The gesture served as a reminder that archery—once a central element of Indian tradition—can reclaim its place in modern competitive sports.
Vision and Mission of APL
Under Anil Kamineni’s leadership, the Archery Premier League was launched to create a sustainable ecosystem for Indian archers, offering world-class training, structured competitions, and avenues for global exposure. The league aims to nurture raw talent and provide them the tools needed to excel at both national and global stages.
Ram Charan’s Statement
Sharing his thoughts after meeting the Prime Minister, Ram Charan said:
"It was an honour to discuss the Archery Premier League with our Prime Minister. Archery is deeply rooted in India’s cultural history, and our goal is to revive it as a sport of international repute. The talent in India is extraordinary, and APL will help these athletes shine worldwide."
Cultural Touch in the Meeting
Accompanying Ram Charan was Upasana Kamineni Konidela, who presented PM Modi with a Balaji idol and a traditional puja kit, sent on behalf of Mr. and Mrs. Chiranjeevi. The offering added a spiritual and cultural touch to the event, symbolizing blessings and goodwill for the league’s future.
With the successful completion of its first season, the Archery Premier League has set the stage for an exciting future—one that not only rejuvenates an ancient sport but also inspires the next generation of Indian athletes.
