This highly anticipated film, featuring Keerthy Suresh and Suhas in lead roles, is set to launch exclusively on the streaming platform in India and across 240 countries and territories worldwide starting July 4th.

Produced by Radhika Lavu under the banner of Ellanar Films Pvt Ltd, 'Uppu Kappurambu' is directed by Ani I.V. Sasi and penned by Vasanth Maringanti. The film is a unique coming-of-age satire set in the 1990s, taking viewers to the fictional village of Chitti Jayapuram in South India. The narrative humorously explores the challenges faced by the village residents as they grapple with increasing pressure on their burial infrastructure.

Beyond its distinctive plot, 'Uppu Kappurambu' boasts a stellar ensemble cast, including veteran actors Babu Mohan, Shatru, and Talluri Rameshwari, alongside its leading duo, Keerthy Suresh and Suhas. The film will be available in Telugu, with dubbed versions in Tamil, Hindi, Malayalam, and Kannada, ensuring wide accessibility for diverse audiences.

Promising moments of quirk, wit, and humor, 'Uppu Kappurambu' offers a lighthearted yet thought-provoking take on a societal issue, making it a unique addition to Prime Video's content library.

Nikhil Madhok, Director & Head of Originals, Prime Video, India, expressed enthusiasm for the project: "At Prime Video, we’re committed to broadening our horizon of storytelling and championing fresh, rooted, and culturally diverse narratives that resonate with a wide spectrum of audiences. 'Uppu Kappurambu' is a thought-provoking, yet delightfully quirky satire that captures the essence of an authentic rural milieu whilst bringing to the fore an unconventional theme. We are proud to collaborate with Ellanar Films and take Ani I.V. Sasi’s unique vision, alongside a talented cast led by Keerthy Suresh and Suhas, to a global audience."

Director Ani I.V. Sasi shared his long-held desire to bring this world to the screen: "Set against the quirky and chaotic backdrop of rural life in the '90s, it uses satire and humor to explore how ordinary people navigate extraordinary situations with limited means but an unbreakable spirit. We wanted it to be something that deals with very serious issues in society but in a very silly and cartoonish way. This film is a sincere attempt to blend comedy with meaningful commentary, brought to life by an incredible cast and crew. I’m excited about its launch on Prime Video, which will help this unique, rooted story connect with audiences around the world."

'Uppu Kappurambu' is set to deliver a blend of entertainment and social commentary, offering a fresh narrative experience to viewers worldwide this July.
