Born on July 10, 1942, in Kankipadu, Andhra Pradesh, Kota Srinivasa Rao's cinematic journey began in 1978 with the Telugu film Pranam Khareedu, a film that also marked the debut of Megastar Chiranjeevi. Over a career spanning more than four decades, Rao appeared in over 750 films across Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, Kannada, and Malayalam languages. He was widely admired for his unparalleled versatility, distinctive voice modulation, and impactful performances, effortlessly transitioning between villainous, comedic, and character roles.
His remarkable talent earned him numerous accolades, including nine Nandi Awards from the Government of Andhra Pradesh and the prestigious Padma Shri in 2015 for his immense contribution to Indian cinema. Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan also expressed his deep sorrow, highlighting Rao's unique contributions: "I pray to God that his soul may rest in peace.
