Praveen, an actor who has carved a niche for himself with diverse and distinctive roles as both a comedian and a character artist, is now making his debut as a lead hero in the film 'Bakasura Restaurant.' Touted as a "hunger comedy entertainer," the movie is a unique blend of horror, thriller, comedy, and emotion, promising a complete cinematic experience. Directed by S.J. Shiva, the film features Viva Harsha in the title role of Bakasura, with Krishna Bhagawan, Shining Phani, and KGF Garuda Ram in other crucial roles. Produced by Lakshmaiah Achari and Janardhan Achari under the S.J. Movies banner, 'Bakasura Restaurant' is set for a worldwide release on August 8th. In a recent interview, actor Praveen shared insights into his new venture.
Embracing the Lead Role: A Mix of Entertainment and Emotion
"This film revolves around five characters, and I play Paramesh, the character who drives the story," explained Praveen. "My role has both entertainment and emotion. The interesting part is how my character's ambition is fulfilled. Honestly, it's a bit of a burden. Performance-wise, my role isn't a regular one. The story mixes horror, thriller, and mythology. Since I'm leading a story with five characters, there's some tension. However, the director has crafted the film with great clarity. Now, the responsibility to bring the film out with good promotion rests on me, and everyone in the film industry is cooperating."
Praveen emphasized the emotional depth: "My role has both entertainment and emotion. Portraying the emotional aspect was challenging for me. The story concludes with a painful emotion." He added, "The 'foodie ghost' concept is central to the story. The troubles caused by this ghost are very entertaining and emotional."
Budget, Quality, and Career Choices
When asked about the budget, Praveen stated, "Even if it slightly exceeded the planned budget, the output is very satisfying. The film will definitely appeal to everyone." Addressing the common concern that comedians might lose opportunities when they become heroes, he clarified, "That's not the case at all. Such a feeling only arises if I perceive myself as a hero. I'm just playing a lead role in a film. Currently, I'm busy with Vishwamitra, Ustaad Bhagat Singh, Mass Jathara, Lenin, and Akashamlo O Tara. I'm ready to do any role a director offers me."
Praveen confirmed Dil Raju's involvement in distribution: "Yes, Shirish Garu watched the film and praised it, saying we chose a good story. He really liked the film, which is why SVC is releasing it."
The Film's Speciality and Audience Experience
"The climax sequences are particularly emotional," Praveen highlighted. "There's a pain we feel when a good friend leaves our lives due to unavoidable circumstances. This kind of emotion is present in this film, and it will touch everyone's hearts."
On leading the film, he shared, "I know how to turn the pressure of work into pleasure. Every film involves hard work." Looking ahead, he expressed his desire for future lead roles: "I will do all kinds of roles. But for a lead role, I want to do something full of entertainment. Because as comedians, when we take on lead roles, audiences expect more entertainment. I will make films in that style."
Finally, describing the audience's feeling after watching the film, Praveen concluded, "Audiences will enjoy the entertainment in the theater and, after watching the climax sequences, will leave with a deep emotion, remaining in that feeling for a while."
