Director Krish Jagarlamudi held a press meet to discuss his upcoming project, 'Ghaati', starring Anushka Shetty and Vikram Prabhu. Produced by Rajiv Reddy and Sai Babu Jagarlamudi under the First Frame Entertainment banner, in collaboration with UV Creations, the film is set to release on September 5th.
'Ghaati' is a Story from the Eastern Ghats
Director Krish described 'Ghaati' as a film with a raw and powerful story. "Some stories are very natural, raw, and ready to explode, and 'Ghaati' is one of them. The story is a mix of the Eastern Ghats, strong emotions, and great characters. I first heard about this world from the great writer Chintakinda Srinivas Rao, and it felt very exciting."
Krish praised Anushka’s performance, stating, "We worked together on 'Vedam', where she played the role of Saroja. Now, she is coming as Sheelavathi in 'Ghaati'. Anushka has done many iconic roles like Arundhati, Saroja, Devasena, and Bhagamathi. She has done an extraordinary job in 'Ghaati'. When I called her after watching the censor copy, I told her that this is one of her finest performances to date, and I am confident the audience will agree."
He added that the team, including himself, producers Rajiv and Sai Babu, and Vikram, decided that Anushka was the perfect fit for the role of Sheelavathi from the very beginning.
Extraordinary Performances from the Cast
Krish spoke highly of the cast, including Vikram Prabhu, who plays the character of Desiraju. "Vikram Prabhu does a different character in every film, and his performance in 'Ghaati' is excellent. He even dubbed for his character in his own voice. Chaitanya Rao is perfect for the role of Kundula Naidu, and all the performances in this film are extraordinary. Jagapathi Babu's character is the driving force of this film; he is in the first and last scenes."
He also thanked the technical team, including production designer Thota Tharani, costume designer Aishwarya, dialogue writer Sai Madhav Burra, and music director Sagar. "The music is the heartbeat of this film, and Sagar has given amazing music. The action sequences are very exciting. We have made a great film with a beautiful soul, and the audience will carry that with them when they leave the theater."
Cast and Crew Share Their Thoughts
Jagapathi Babu expressed his joy at being part of the film. "We all know Anushka as Sweetie, but in this movie, she is going to be very bold. We shot in real locations. It was a very enjoyable journey. The main reason I came to this press meet is because of Krish and Rajiv. They have made an amazing film."
Vikram Prabhu called 'Ghaati' his first Telugu film and thanked the team for the opportunity. "I am a big fan of Anushka, and it was a pleasure to work with her. Chaitanya has lived in his character. Rajiv is a genuine producer, and he understood the team's vision perfectly."
Chaitanya Rao was also thrilled about his role. "I am very happy to have played a great role in a Krish film. I did a very powerful role, and the response to my character in the teaser was very encouraging. The film will be even more amazing. I thank director Krish for showing a new side of me."
Producer Rajiv Reddy concluded the event by stating, "You will see Anushka as a real queen in 'Ghaati'. We have made a wonderful film and are very confident in it. Let's all meet in theaters on September 5th."
