Applause For ‘Prodduturu Dasara’ Documentary: Balcony Originals Showcases Cultural Grandeur at Special Screening
Balcony Originals and Bushetti Jewellers presented the stirring documentary ‘Prodduturu Dasara’, produced by Prem Kumar Valapala and directed by Murali Krishna Tumma. The film chronicles the magnificent Dasara celebrations in Prodduturu, capturing local traditions and festivities in vivid detail. The special screening held on September 5 drew commendation from industry guests Karuna Kumar, Viplav, Mahesh Vitta, and Uday Gurrala, who praised the film’s cultural impact and visual storytelling.
Documentary’s Engaging, Innovative Approach
Director Karuna Kumar spoke about the power of documentaries, stating, “A documentary can often reach further than a film. ‘Prodduturu Dasara’ breaks the stereotype that documentaries cannot be engaging—this feels truly wonderful.” He highlighted the enchanting music by Yashwanth Nag, calling the background score and songs emotionally stirring. “The creative use of AI has raised the film’s appeal and placed it on an international stage,” he added, calling the documentary a form of visual history and congratulating the entire team.
Celebration and Authenticity
Actor Mahesh Vitta reflected on his hometown’s vibrant Dasara, stating, “For ten days, our festival is spectacular, even grander than shown on screen. Prodduturu celebrates Dasara magnificently at ten temples, and the 11th day sees the streets packed with people and fireworks from Shivakasi. This documentary shares our tradition with the world.”
Director Uday Gurrala appreciated how ‘Prodduturu Dasara’ would preserve festival memories for future generations. After watching the film, he realized the true scale and spirit of Dasara in Prodduturu, noting that Yashwanth Nag’s music elevated the experience.
Team’s Dedication and Impact
Producer Prem Kumar Valapala revealed, “Balcony Originals began three years ago. Our aim is to shift perceptions, showing Prodduturu’s rich culture. The team, especially Yashwanth for music and Nikhil for visuals, delivered outstanding work.”
Actor Viplav expressed his long-standing wish to work with Prem Kumar and praised the documentary’s high quality and uncompromising production values, hoping to experience Prodduturu Dasara in person.
