Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar has entered the last filming phase of Haiwaan, an eagerly awaited thriller directed by acclaimed filmmaker Priyadarshan and co-starring Saif Ali Khan. Produced by KVN Productions and Thespian Films (Venkat K. Narayana and Shailaja Desai Fenn), the film marks a career milestone: for the first time, Akshay steps into a truly negative role, playing a formidable antagonist.
Sharing behind-the-scenes glimpses on social media, Akshay expressed gratitude for the opportunity: “This character has pushed, shaped, and surprised me in so many ways. Forever grateful to Priyan Sir, your sets feel like home. And Saif, thank you for the laughter, ease, and all those effortless moments on screen.” The reunion with Saif comes nearly 17 years after their last on-screen venture, adding nostalgia to the high-voltage excitement.
Haiwaan is a Hindi adaptation of the Malayalam hit Oppam, and features a “cat-and-mouse” faceoff between a menacing villain (Akshay) and a blind protagonist (Saif Ali Khan). Akshay revealed, “I was initially unsure, but I wanted to explore this new creative space. In the end, the Haiwaan loses—but the journey has been incredible.” The ensemble cast also includes Shriya Pilgaonkar and Saiyami Kher in key roles, with principal filming wrapping up across Mumbai, Kochi, and Ooty.
With top-tier production values and a celebrated team, Haiwaan is poised as one of 2026’s most anticipated thrillers, promising a bold new chapter for Akshay Kumar and a riveting cinema experience for fans.
