Mithra Mandali, featuring Priyadarshi and Niharika NM in lead roles, is gearing up for its worldwide theatrical release on October 16. The comedy entertainer, directed by Vijayender, is produced by Kalyan Manthina, Bhanu Pratap, and Dr. Vijeyender Reddy Theegala, and presented by Bunny Vas. Ahead of its release, the producers shared insights about the film’s making and their creative journey.
The Journey Behind the Project
Recalling how the project began, producers Kalyan Manthina and Bhanu Pratap mentioned their long professional association with Bunny Vas, through films like Kotabommali PS, Aay, Thandel, and Single. Bunny Vas, who had been nurturing the idea of Mithra Mandali for years, brought the story to them at the right time. “The moment we heard the script, we knew it had everything — humor, emotion, and engaging storytelling. It’s the perfect film to mark our production debut,” the duo shared.
They added that Mithra Mandali offers continuous entertainment from start to finish, and also revealed that they already have two more projects in development under their new banner.
Creative Collaboration and Script Process
The producers credited the film’s director Vijayender for presenting a well-rounded script. “He’s extremely talented and has contributed to films by directors like Anudeep, Mad Kalyan, and Aditya Hasan. His execution of Mithra Mandali feels like the work of a seasoned filmmaker rather than a debutant,” they explained.
Before production, the team began with a writers’ room—the same creative space where projects such as Aay and Thandel were conceived. “We stay involved in every script until it reaches a strong, finished stage,” said the producers, emphasizing their commitment to creative participation.
First-Time Producing Experience
As debut producers, Kalyan and Bhanu described their experience as rewarding and collaborative. They spoke about constant brainstorming sessions, friendly discussions, and the importance of teamwork. “Despite differences of opinion at times, our focus was always on delivering the best version of the film,” they noted.
Brahmanandam’s Special Addition
Veteran comedian Brahmanandam plays one of the film’s key highlights. Interestingly, the energetic “Jambar Gimbar Lala” song, featuring him, was a spontaneous addition after the shoot was completed. “We felt something was missing, so we added this light-hearted track. Brahmanandam garu loved the fun nature of the song and delivered his best,” they revealed.
Characters and Setting
Mithra Mandali unfolds in a fictional town called Jangli Pattanam, filled with quirky and relatable characters. Priyadarshi’s comedic timing and Niharika NM’s sharp wit bring freshness to the narrative. “Niharika’s role has a satirical touch that fits her personality beautifully. Even Allu Aravind garu instantly approved her casting,” they shared.
Releasing During the Festival Rush
Releasing amid the Diwali festival lineup, the producers are confident about their film standing out. “The festive season always brings a mix of big releases, but audiences have evolved — they look for good content. We believe Mithra Mandali will connect strongly with all sections of the audience,” they said.
Future Plans
After this fun-filled entertainer, the producers are diving into a horror project next, aiming to explore multiple genres. “For us, strong stories matter the most — whether on a large or small scale,” they concluded.
