The wait is finally over for fans of Superstar Mahesh Babu and acclaimed director SS Rajamouli, as the title of their much-anticipated collaboration has been officially revealed as “Varanasi.” Formerly known by the working title “Globetrotter,” the film’s grand unveiling took place at a spectacular event at Ramoji Film City, Hyderabad, witnessed by thousands of excited fans and industry insiders.
The epic action-adventure film casts Mahesh Babu in the lead role of Rudhra, whose first glimpse shows him wielding a trident and riding a charging bull amid an iconic dusty landscape dotted with ancient temples. This powerful visual perfectly encapsulates the film’s intense and culturally rich narrative tone. Alongside Mahesh Babu are notable stars Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Prithviraj Sukumaran, adding pan-Indian appeal to the project.
Produced by KL Narayana of Durga Arts, the movie boasts the creative prowess of MM Keeravani as music composer, promising a soundtrack that will complement Rajamouli’s signature grand storytelling. The project follows Rajamouli’s massive success with RRR and is set to push cinematic boundaries once again.
The title "Varanasi" hints at a storyline deeply connected to Indian heritage, culture, and perhaps the spiritually significant city itself, engrossing audiences in a tale that combines myth, history, and high-octane thrills. The film is expected to be released in theaters by 2027, generating massive anticipation nationwide and among international cinephiles.
The launch event, branded as the "Globetrotter Event," is being hailed as one of the grandest promotional spectacles ever held in India, featuring gigantic screens and state-of-the-art visual experiences. Rajamouli and Mahesh Babu’s charisma and vision promise a cinematic masterpiece that could redefine Telugu and Indian cinema landscapes once more.
