Raju Weds Rambai: Producers Venu Udugula & Rahul Mopidevi Highlight Real-Life Love Story Ahead of November 21 Release
The upcoming film Raju Weds Rambai, starring Akhil and Tejaswi, is set for a grand theatrical worldwide release on November 21, 2025, under the banners of Dolamukhi Subaltern Films and Monsoon Tales, produced by Venu Udugula and Rahul Mopidevi, and presented by Dr. Nageswara Rao Poojari. Directed by Saailu Kaampati, the film has already attracted attention for its gripping narrative based on a real-life incident situated between the Khammam and Warangal districts.
Producer Venu Udugula shared how the film’s script was inspired by a deeply moving true story narrated to him by director Saailu, emphasizing the uniqueness of the tale—unlike other stories revolving around honor killings, this portrays a brutal reality seldom seen in love stories. Udugula noted that while the film stays true to reality, it has been crafted to maintain mainstream appeal and deliver an entertaining experience. He expressed satisfaction with the collaboration involving ETV, renowned producers Vamsi Nandipati and Bunny Vas, ensuring the film reaches a broad audience.
Responding to concerns around the film’s depiction of intense drama, he clarified that the movie concludes on a hopeful note, aiming to inspire positive reflections among viewers, particularly parents, regarding love and relationships. The film carefully obfuscates the real village and individuals involved, respecting privacy and sensitivity.
Casting efforts sought authenticity—Akhil, native to Warangal, fit the hero’s role, while finding the heroine required extensive auditions before finalizing Tejaswi, whose natural portrayal and Telangana accent impressed the team. Supporting actor Chaitanya, who plays the heroine's father, was discovered through auditions despite being based in the US, bringing unique nuance to his character.
Producer Rahul Mopidevi added that the movie was shot in real locations, involving the local community, and overcoming challenges such as rains and floods. Both leads, Akhil and Tejaswi, performed flawlessly, mastering the local accent and emotions. The film, spanning the two Telugu states, anticipates strong pan-regional appeal.
With a focus on socially relevant storytelling rooted in real experiences, Raju Weds Rambai is positioned to become a memorable love story for Telugu audiences, combining heartfelt performances and cultural richness under the skilled direction of Saailu Kaampati.
