ZEE5 has unveiled the trailer of Nayanam, a bold Telugu original that blends psychological thriller elements with an inventive sci‑fi premise, headlined by Varun Sandesh and Priyanka Jain. Centered on the hook, “Meet Nayan – the man who can watch your present like a lens‑feed,” the series explores how curiosity and perception can turn dangerous when a person can literally see into others’ lives in real time. Directed by Swathi Prakash Mantripragada, Nayanam is being positioned as a first‑of‑its‑kind attempt in Telugu OTT to marry mind‑bending sci‑fi with intense psychological drama, and will stream exclusively on ZEE5 from December 19.
At the Hyderabad trailer launch, the creative team spoke about the show’s unique grammar. Music director Ajay Arasada explained that instead of composing in a routine way, he built the background score to mirror the characters’ inner states, aiming for a soundscape of mystery and unease. Editor Venkata Krishna noted that each cut was designed to feel like slipping deeper into Nayan’s mind, while cinematographer Shoaib Siddiqui described the visual style as grounded yet eerie, with the SRT team helping realize Swathi’s clear visual vision.
Actor Ali Reza shared a personal note about returning to substantial work after a difficult career lull, saying Nayanam reminded him why he became an actor two decades ago, and that playing a cop under Swathi’s direction, with long‑time supporter Anuradha Gudur backing him, felt like a turning point. Senior ZEE leadership—including Jayanth Raghavan (SVP OAP & Commissioning), Saiteja Desiraju (VP Telugu Originals) and Anuradha Gudur (Chief Content Officer & Business Head Telugu ZEE5)—framed Nayanam as a cornerstone of the 2025 slate, praising Swathi’s passion, the rarity of this flavour of psychological thriller in Telugu, and the sharp execution by the SRT Entertainment team.
Executive Producer Vidyasagar highlighted how SRT consistently supports new voices, crediting Ajay’s music, Shoaib’s visuals, and Varun’s timely entry into the project as crucial. Producer Rajini Talluri connected Nayanam to earlier collaboration Vikatakavi, calling it their third outing with ZEE5 and pointing to the continuity of the same creative core—music director, cinematographer, and team synergy.
Director Swathi Prakash thanked ZEE5 for trusting a debut director with a concept‑heavy show, stressing that Nayanam is about how curiosity can push people too far. She praised Shoaib for visualizing her world, Ajay for elevating the mood, and Saiteja for backing the script from narration to final cut. Priyanka Jain, who plays Madhavi, called the series very special, thanked co‑actors Varun and Ali Reza, and invited audiences to stream it from December 19. Vitika Sheru lauded ZEE5 for championing different content and expressed excitement over Swathi’s work, Ajay’s score, Shoaib’s visuals, and the performances, calling Nayanam a rare and pleasing Telugu project.
Lead actor Varun Sandesh said he immediately accepted the role of Nayan after hearing Swathi and Sadhika’s narration, thanking SRT Entertainment’s Ram and Rajini and stating he is returning to viewers after a long time with the satisfaction of having done something meaningful. He praised co‑actors Ali Reza, Priyanka, Rekha and said he is eager to watch Ajay’s background score and Shoaib’s imagery with audiences when the show drops.
With its high‑concept logline, layered performances, and a psychological lens that isn’t afraid to stare into human darkness, Nayanam aims to close out the year as a sharp, unsettling Telugu thriller on ZEE5.
