Rocking Star Manchu Manoj is making a grand return to the big screen with his upcoming pan-India film David Reddy, directed by Hanuma Reddy Yakkanti. The project is being jointly produced by Venkat Reddy and Bharat Motukuri under the banners Velvet Soul Motion Pictures and True Radix.

Set in the British colonial era, David Reddy is being made as a large-scale period action drama in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada, featuring Maria Ryaboshapka as the female lead. The makers unveiled the film’s glimpse trailer in Hyderabad with much fanfare, attended by the film’s team, including stunt choreographer Supreme Sundar, music composer Ravi Basrur, and cinematographer Acharya Venu.

A Film Fueled by Passion and Scale

Stunt master Supreme Sundar praised Manchu Manoj, stating that the actor has always stood out for his action-packed performances. “David Reddy will mark a milestone in his career,” he said, predicting that the film’s intense action sequences would impress the masses.

Producer Venkat Reddy expressed confidence in the project, adding, “You’ll see Manoj in a completely new avatar. What we showed in the glimpse is just one percent of what’s coming. Director Hanuma Reddy and his team have worked with great energy and passion to create something truly special.”

Echoing the excitement, Producer Bharat Motukuri described David Reddy as “a story of rage, rebellion, and revolution, where injustice sparks an uprising against British rule.” He emphasized that the story demanded a performer like Manchu Manoj, whose intensity and emotions perfectly fit the character.

The Music, Vision, and Craft

Speaking about the film’s soundtrack, Ravi Basrur, known for his work in KGF and Salaar, said, “I have received unwavering love from Telugu fans for my music. David Reddy will continue that bond. The glimpse is just a taste — the full score will be much more powerful.”

Director Hanuma Reddy Yakkanti opened up about the movie’s journey, explaining that David Reddy is a fictional story rooted in historical events, set between 1897 and 1922. “After finishing the script, I wanted an actor who could carry both the intensity and depth the character demanded. When I shared the concept with Manoj garu, he immediately said yes. The response from top technicians like Ravi Basrur and Supreme Sundar, who agreed to collaborate after hearing the story, has been heartwarming,” he said.

Manoj on His Comeback and Character

Sharing his excitement, Manchu Manoj said, “Your love and encouragement have always been my strength. When I was looking for the right story to mark my comeback, my friend Ram suggested David Reddy. The moment I heard the narration from Hanuma, I knew this was the film I had been waiting for.”

He described his role as a fierce and fearless warrior who rises against tyranny. “David Reddy doesn’t believe in pleading for freedom — he fights for it. His bike is called ‘War Dog’, and the stick he carries is his ‘Death Note.’ When injustice burns villages, he fights back with equal force,” Manoj said, adding that the movie is a tribute to freedom fighters who fought unseen battles.

Addressing rumors about guest appearances by Ram Charan and Simbu, the actor clarified that “while there is scope for such cameos, no one has been approached yet. We’ll announce details as the production progresses.”

Fans Can Expect a “Full Meals Feast”

Manoj concluded with gratitude, saying, “When I played villain and supporting roles, fans stood by me without fail. David Reddy is my gift to them — a complete action entertainer packed with courage, emotion, and massive visuals. This movie will feel like a full meals feast for my fans.”
