Faria Abdullah, who rose to fame with her memorable comic timing, is gearing up for the release of her upcoming dark comedy film Gurram Paapireddy, co-starring Naresh Agastya. Directed by Murali Manohar and presented by Dr. Sandhya Goli, the film has been produced by Venu Saddi, Amar Bura, and Jayakanth (Bobby) under a new-age storytelling banner. The movie is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on December 19.
In a recent media interaction, Faria Abdullah revealed exciting details about her role and the film’s unique premise.
A Fresh Role with Shades of Fun and Conflict
“In Gurram Paapireddy, I play Soudhamini, a nurse who dreams of becoming a doctor,” Faria shared. “During her journey, she encounters Gurram Paapireddy, and from there, her life takes a wild turn. She gets entangled in a robbery plan with his gang, leading to hilarious and unpredictable situations.”
The actress explained that the story humorously explores what happens when intelligent people act foolishly and vice versa. “Whether my character belongs to the smart group or the ‘clueless’ one is something the audience will enjoy discovering on the big screen,” she laughed, adding that Brahmanandam garu plays a judge, in front of whom the characters appear in multiple disguises — a segment that promises high entertainment value.
Variety in Looks and Performances
Faria Abdullah expressed that playing Soudhamini allowed her to experiment with different looks and transformations. “The shooting took place during summer, and getting into makeup for every look was quite challenging. But such opportunities to play diverse shades don’t come often,” she said.
She clarified that Soudhamini is very different from her popular “Chitti” role in Jathi Ratnalu. “Chitti was innocent, but Soudhamini is smart and aware. She’s not a repeat of anything I’ve done before,” Faria emphasised.
Teamwork, Music, and Passionate Filmmaking
The actress praised the film’s new producers for their commitment and coordination. “Even though they’re new, they handled everything so professionally. They treated the team with a lot of respect and ensured smooth production and wide promotions,” she noted.
On the music front, Krishna Saurabh has composed both the songs and the background score. “He’s very passionate about music. I even performed in a special promotional song, which turned out beautifully,” she added.
Co-stars & On-Set Experiences
Although Faria doesn’t share screen space with Brahmanandam garu, she mentioned that working with Yogi Babu was “a joyful and memorable experience.” Speaking about her co-star, she said, “Naresh Agastya is a talented and humble actor. We had great chemistry on set, which helped us bring authenticity to our scenes.”
Upcoming Projects & Future Aspirations
Looking ahead, Faria Abdullah confirmed that she’s part of several intriguing films — including Mathu Vadalara 3, a Tamil project with Sandeep Kishan, and Gayapadda Simham, a movie built on a powerful script. She also revealed her interest in working on private music albums and exploring darker roles.
“I’d love to try action-based or intense psychological characters, even serial killer roles,” she said. “Heroines don’t need to just look glamorous — we can also carry power-packed stories. Every movie gives me something new, and once it’s done, I move on without regrets.”
On her closing note, she added, “The audience is going to love Gurram Paapireddy for its mix of comedy, twists, and strong storyline. It’s going to be a complete entertainer with a different flavor.”
