A Gritty Kakinada Chronicle: Raghu Kunche’s Gedela Raju Trailer Unveiled; Hits Theaters on April 17

The promotional campaign for the upcoming crime thriller Gedela Raju reached a fever pitch today as the film's trailer was officially launched in Hyderabad. In a unique gesture, the makers invited members of the media and journalist friends to unveil the footage. Starring the versatile Raghu Kunche in the titular role, the film is slated for a grand theatrical release on April 17, 2026.

Presented by Raghu Kunche under the Moturi Talkies banner, the project is directed by Chaitanya Moturi and produced by Vani Ravikumar Moturi.


A Tense Murder Mystery with a Rural Soul

Director Chaitanya Moturi described the film as a high-stakes murder mystery and crime thriller that clocks in at a crisp 2 hours and 1 minute.

  • The Setting: Much of the film was shot across 84 authentic locations, including real-crowd sequences in Kakinada.

  • The Narrative: The director emphasized that the story avoids traditional "hero vs. villain" tropes, focusing instead on flawed characters and their lives. The final 40 minutes are touted to be the film’s strongest emotional and thrilling anchor.

  • Technical Ambition: The movie features a massive fight sequence involving 60 newcomers and introduces fresh rural singing talent to the industry.

Raghu Kunche: The Triple Threat

While widely known for his musical prowess, Raghu Kunche takes center stage as the lead actor, music composer, and singer for this project.

"Ultimately, only strong content brings the audience to the cinema," Raghu Kunche stated during the event. "We haven't just worked hard; we have built a story that justifies the audience's time and money. If the trailer sparks your curiosity, the film will certainly deliver on the 17th."
