"Dacoit" Combines Heart-Stopping Action with a Soulful Romance; The Action in the Love Story Will Surprise Everyone: Hero Adivi Sesh
Adivi Sesh, who has been delivering consecutive Pan-India blockbusters, is set to return to the big screen with his latest Pan-India action-romantic thriller, "Dacoit." The film marks the directorial debut of Shaniel Deo and features Mrunal Thakur as the female lead, with a pivotal role played by Anurag Kashyap. Produced by Supriya Yarlagadda under Annapurna Studios and co-produced by Sunil Narang, the film is scheduled for a worldwide release on April 10th.
During a recent press meet, Adivi Sesh shared several interesting insights about the film's journey and his character.
A Strong Response Across India
When asked about the reception of the trailers, Sesh expressed his excitement regarding the North Indian market.
"The response in Hindi has been beyond our expectations. For the first time, I was even asked if we would premiere the film in Bhojpuri! Having Pawan Singh on board has been a massive attraction for the Bhojpuri audience."
The Heart of the Story: Romance Over Action
While Adivi Sesh is known for thrillers, he clarified that "Dacoit" stands on a different foundation compared to his previous works like Major or Goodachari.

Love as the Platform: In his past films, romance was a subplot. In "Dacoit," the entire plot is driven by the love story.

Organic Emotions: Sesh remarked, "If you go in expecting a love story and find action, you'll be thrilled. But if you go in only for action and ignore the love, you might miss the point. The emotions here are very organic."
The Creative Spark
The inspiration for the story came from a single visual metaphor that flashed in Sesh's mind: A small flower blooming through a crack in a concrete sidewalk on a busy road. This imagery of beauty emerging from harshness led to the creation of an intense action-drama centered around a sensitive romance.
Breaking Personal Barriers: Dancing and Dialect
Fans will see a new side of Adivi Sesh in this film as he breaks his long-standing "no-dancing" rule.

Overcoming Insecurity: Sesh revealed that a childhood comment about his height made him self-conscious about dancing. He finally overcame this limitation for the character Hari.

Authentic Dialect: To play Hari, Sesh practiced the Madanapalle accent so rigorously that he started speaking it at home, much to his mother's surprise.

Anurag Kashyap: Sesh shared a surprise moment when he went to pitch the story to Anurag Kashyap during Naga Chaitanya’s wedding festivities. To his shock, Anurag already knew about the project through Supriya and agreed to the role immediately after a narration in a small tent.

Mrunal Thakur: Sesh praised her as an "extraordinary actress" who feels the scene's emotions deeply, even off-camera. He admitted that her performance pushed him to "raise his game."

Bheems Ceciroleo: The music director provided a fresh sound for the film. Sesh noted that the song Rubaru has a soulful quality that many have compared to A.R. Rahman’s style.
Production and Challenges

The "Motherly" Producer: Sesh compared Supriya Yarlagadda’s role to that of a parent managing a hundred weddings, handling egos and complaints with immense patience.

Physical Toll: The film wasn't without its hardships. Sesh suffered a knee injury during a stunt, which delayed the film by a few months and even impacted the schedule of Goodachari 2. The climax was shot in grueling 45-degree heat on large mountains.
The Secret to His Youthful Look
When asked how he maintains the same look since the beginning of his career, Sesh shared his simple lifestyle:
"I don't smoke or drink, and I am a vegetarian. Growing up in the US, I also never developed a habit for very spicy food!"
Future Projects
Sesh confirmed that despite receiving offers for four war movies and two biopics from Bollywood after Major, he chose to decline them to avoid being typecast. Fans can look forward to G2 (Goodachari 2), which is slated for release toward the end of this year.
