With just days left for the grand worldwide theatrical rollout of Nagabandham: The Secret Treasure on July 3, anticipation across the country is reaching a fever pitch. Directed by Abhishek Nama and starring Virat Karrna alongside Nabha Natesh and Aishwarya Menon, the film is backed by producers Kishore Annapureddy and Nishitha Nagireddy under the Nic Studios banner.

In a candid media interaction, the tech-entrepreneurs turned producers opened up about pouring over ₹110 crores into a mythological adventure, handling risk, and their divine connection to the script.

Nagabandham Producer Interview Highlights

  • The Production Budget: ₹110+ Crores (Visual Spectacle Roster)

  • Producers Background: Former Software Tech Founders & IIT Graduates

  • Director: Abhishek Nama (Devil fame)

  • Key Cast: Virat Karrna, Nabha Natesh, Aishwarya Menon, Jagapathi Babu

  • Worldwide Release Date: July 3, 2026

  • Sequel Status: Officially planned depending on box office response

Shifting From a Successful Tech Exit to Tollywood

Detailing their unexpected entry into the entertainment business, the duo explained that cinema was a strategic expansion tool rather than a quick grab for fame. Having scaled and successfully exited a prominent software startup, they analyzed real estate, pharma, and entertainment before locking their eyes on media.

On Breaking Safe Stereotypes: "Risk is inherent to every industry. When we started our tech firm as IIT graduates, the standard trend was to move to the US for a stable corporate job. We broke that trend, survived without income for four years, and succeeded. We are applying that same extreme self-belief to cinema."

The producers revealed that the project materialized after distributor-filmmaker Abhishek Nama shared his ambitious vision. As the scripting phase progressed, their confidence scaled up, prompting them to officially greenlight a budget exceeding ₹110 crores to ensure a flawless theatrical experience.

Crafting a Visual Feast: Sets vs. VFX Challenges

Addressing trade curiosity regarding why they backed a relatively fresh hero (Virat Karrna) with such astronomical financial stakes, the producers emphasized that they bet heavily on the content. They praised director Abhishek Nama’s intense pre-production layout and Virat Karrna's grueling physical transformation to fit the skin of a Naga Sadhu.

One of the largest production hurdles involved striking a balance between physical structures and post-production green screens.

"We constructed massive, hyper-realistic sets including a replica of the Anantha Padmanabha Swamy Temple. The biggest challenge was deciding where the physical sets should end and where the VFX extensions should begin. The final cut drops a breathtaking visual marvel every ten minutes, and we are ecstatic that every single rupee we spent is vividly visible on the screen."

Divine Interventions and Pan-Indian Promotional Trajectory

The producers proudly stated that spirituality is a daily routine for them, making the devotional backdrop of the film incredibly personal. They recalled how their promotional campaign—headlined by the Anantha Padmanabha Swamy Ratha Yatra—went viral digitally, adding that key shoot schedules miraculously concluded on auspicious days like Karthika Pournami.

The pan-Indian promotions have garnered immense traction in Northern territories, with major Bollywood trade analysts praising the trailer's raw cinematic scale. Kishore and Nishitha concluded by stating that their focus is entirely glued to the July 3 release, hinting that a potential sequel is officially on the cards if the opening chapter sets the box office on fire.
