Following a warm and encouraging theatrical run earlier this summer, the suspense-action family drama ‘Sugriva’ is now gearing up to entertain home viewers across the globe. Headlined by Balu Charan and Kajal Tiwari, the film is produced with rich production values by M. Pavan Kumar under the SGSV Movies banner and directed by Narthu Chiranjeevi.
Having debuted in theatres on April 24, 2026, the movie garnered positive word-of-mouth and favorable reviews from critics for its neat blend of relatable domestic sentiment and unexpected thriller elements. Expanding its reach to the digital audience, ‘Sugriva’ officially begins its exclusive OTT streaming voyage on the leading regional platform aha from Friday, October 16, 2026.
A Warm Appeal to Movie Lovers: "Catch It on aha This Festive Weekend"
Speaking on the eve of the digital release, the makers extended a heartfelt message to Telugu audiences who couldn't catch the movie on the big screen:
"We received immense love and appreciation from movie lovers and critics alike during our theatrical run. However, we understand that many family audiences and film enthusiasts missed experiencing 'Sugriva' in cinema halls due to packed summer schedules. Now that our film is arriving directly on aha OTT from October 16, we urge everyone to sit back with their families and experience this emotional, edge-of-the-seat story right from the comfort of their homes. We are confident it will give you a thoroughly engaging and heartwarming movie-watching experience."
The Story: Unfolding Conflicts in a Serene Household
At its heart, Sugriva revolves around a tight-knit, cheerful family whose peaceful life takes a startling, turbulent turn due to sudden, uninvited circumstances:
-
The Conflict: A chain of mysterious and perilous incidents disrupts their quiet harmony, testing the strength of their familial bond.
-
The Resolution: Balancing raw courage with tactical wit, the protagonist embarks on an intense crusade to safeguard his loved ones and unmask the forces orchestrating the crisis.
The narrative strikes a fine balance between heartwarming domestic dynamics and edge-of-the-seat thriller hooks, ensuring that both family crowds and youth thriller enthusiasts stay hooked.
Rich Visuals, Soulful Melodies, and Energetic Action
One of the standout strengths highlighted during its theatrical run was the film’s visual and technical craftsmanship:
-
Scenic Locales: The romantic melodies and pivotal outdoor sequences were mounted in the coastal landscapes of Visakhapatnam and scenic stretches of Goa, bringing visual vibrance to the screen.
-
High-Octane Action: The fight sequences were structured with crisp momentum, complementing the protagonist's desperate fight for his family's safety.
-
Technical Polish: Complete digital intermediate (DI) grading carried out at Hyderabad's renowned Sarathi Studios lent the film a rich cinematic texture, while composer duo Ajay Patnaik and Vijay Kurakula delivered a catchy soundtrack with lyrics penned by Ranjith Kumar Ricky.
