Despite continuously acting in movies, the young hero Santosh Shoban has yet to achieve a successful hit in his career. His poor selection of stories, inadequate release dates, and ineffective promotional strategies have had a detrimental effect on him. Last month, he participated in the Sankranthi race with his film Kalyanam Kamaneeyam, but it failed to make an impact against the popular films Waltair Veerayya and Veera Simha Reddy.
Currently, he has released his new film Sridevi Shobanbabu, which he once again pitted against big-budget films such as Sir and Vinaro Bhagyamu Vishnu Katha. Although it was produced by Chiranjeevi's daughter Sushmita Konidela, there was a lack of promotional activity for the film, relying mostly on word of mouth.
Sridevi Shobanbabu was released on the occasion of Maha Shivaratri, but the story is not new, rather a recycled version of old movies such as Ninne Pelladutha. The plot revolves around two broken families, and how the marriage of the lead actors reunites them. This kind of story has been repeatedly portrayed in films for ages, making the screenplay predictable and monotonous, resulting in a disinterested audience.
It is difficult to understand why Sushmita approved this subject for production. Overall, Sridevi Shobanbabu has received negative feedback and has ended up as another disaster for Santosh Shoban.
