Bollywood's box office is currently experiencing a mixed bag of success with some films performing poorly while others are breaking records. Although movies like Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Pathaan’ have entered the prestigious ₹1000 crores club, other recent releases such as ’Shehzada’ and remakes of South Indian films like HIT and Jersey have failed to make a significant impact. However, the success of Drishyam 2 has proved that remakes can still work if done correctly.

Interestingly, while younger actors like Shahid Kapoor, Rajkumar Rao, and Kartik Aryan have failed to impress with their remake attempts, senior stars like Ajay Devgan have been successful. Once again, actors like Ajay Devgan and Akshay Kumar are gearing up to entertain audiences with remakes.

Akshay Kumar's "Selfie", a remake of the Malayalam film Driving License, is set to release this Friday, while Ajay Devgan's "Bholaa," a remake of Karthi and Lokesh Kanagaraj's Kaithi, will hit cinemas in March. Akshay's movie focuses on the fight for a driving license, while Ajay's film follows a prisoner who has to save the police overnight. Both films are expected to do well at the box office and give Bollywood the much-needed boost it needs after a blockbuster year.

Apart from these two remakes, there is also a romantic comedy starring Ranbir Kapoor called "Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar" which has high hopes riding on it and is set to release in March.

The film industry has been hit hard due to the pandemic, with many projects being delayed or canceled. However, the release of these anticipated remakes and new films is sure to draw audiences back to theaters and bring some much-needed relief to the struggling Bollywood box office.
