'The Kashmir Files' and 'The Kerala Story' fetched humongous collections. Bollywood now wants to strike gold with 72 virgins. We are talking about '72 Hoorain', the Hindi-language social film slated to hit the screens on July 7.
The film's trailer, which was put out today, begins with a religious preacher indoctrinating his gullible followers to take up arms and weapons in search of a paradise where they will be treated to 72 virgins if they wage war in the name of religion. "This is a tale where conviction merges with chaos, where belief dances with brutality, and where the unimaginable becomes a haunting reality. Prepare to be swept away by a gripping tale that delves into the depths of the human psyche and explores the twisted paths taken by Fidayeens," says director Sanjay Puran Singh Chauhan.
Given the nature of the subject, the film is expected to be polarizing. Will it join the Rs 100-Cr club? Will it join the Rs 200-Cr club? Its commercial success might well determine how many more such films are going to be made.
