Mahesh Babu started avoiding the film events of others and opening ceremonies of new movies made by others for a reason. As per veteran filmmaker Tammareddy Bharadwaja, the superstar was deeply hurt when the whole film industry (barring Pawan Kalyan) kept mum when his prestigious movie 'Arjun' became a victim of piracy back in 2005.
When 'Arjun', which had investments made by Mahesh's brother (Ramesh Babu) and sister (Manjula), was released, its pirated versions were openly available for a pittance in the market. This enraged the 'Okkadu' actor, who lodged a police complaint and even apprehended pirates.
At that time, Power Star alone issued a statement showing solidarity with Mahesh. Tammareddy recalled that others stayed silent for whatever reason. "After that incident, Mahesh started bothering only about his business. If you have been observing him, there has been a stark difference in his behaviour since then," the veteran director said.
Mahesh is currently doing Trivikram's 'Guntur Kaaram'. The film is scheduled to hit the screens on January 12, 2024.
