Bollywood star hero Sunny Deol awaits the release of 'Gadar 2' in theatres on August 11. Speaking at the trailer launch event of the film on Wednesday, the senior actor said that there is love on both sides (referring to India and Pakistan). He attributed the enmity between the two countries to a "political game". Deol further said that 'Gadar 2' brings out the love and affection between the ordinary people of India and Pakistan.
Deol's comments have angered Netizens. The actor, who is a BJP MP, has been accused of being blind to history. "The hate is not generated by political parties. It’s just exploited by them, mainly in Pakistan. Anti-India agenda is part of their manifestos and political grandstanding. They will never stop sending terrorists and hurting minorities," wrote Maj Manik M Jolly.
"On the day of Kargil Vijay Diwas when we thank hundreds of soldiers who attained 'veergati' defending our motherland, this dummy is talking about Aman Ki Asha to push his movie," wrote Arun Pudur. Aman Ki Asha is an initiative to enhance the emotional bond between the people of the two countries.
Netizens are reminding Deol that Pakistan has systematically persecuted Hindus, Sikhs and Christians for decades, besides trying to harm India economically by training terrorists.
