Megastar Chiranjeevi has been advised by a veteran filmmaker to do performance-centric films and non-commercial scripts like 'Vijetha', 'Swayamkrushi' and 'Rudraveena'. On the other hand, his fans urge him to team up with Sukumar and Trivikram (everyone knows Rajamouli is too big).
If others are so knowledgeable, can we expect Chiru to be ignorant? Of course, no. Why, then, is he not doing content films? Why, then, is he not working with Sukumar and Trivikram?
It is not rocket science to decipher the truth. Good content films can't be written easily for big stars. Even small actors rarely get to do good content films. For every 'Balgam', there is the boring 'Vimanam'. Forget notable actors, even newcomers rarely get to do good content films. In the 1980s, Telugu cinema saw the presence of stalwarts like K Viswanath. Even in that era, Chiru was mostly known for commercial films, not experimentation.
As for star directors, they are busy carving pan-India careers these days. They know that Chiru can't be trusted with a pan-India project. It may be difficult for fans to digest this truth, but Chiru knows the practical difficulties involved.
