It is known that director Vivek Agnihotri of 'The Kashmir Files' fame dislikes the ecosystem built by top stars like Shah Rukh Khan and director-producer Karan Johar. He and actress Kangana Ranaut have made enemies in Bollywood because of their trenchant criticism of major film personalities.
In his latest interview, Agnihotri lashed out at SRK and said that the 'Pathaan' actor has destroyed Bollywood.
Saying that he likes SRK as an actor but not his politics, Agnihotri added, "Now, it’s only PRs, hype, glamour and stardom… anything which is not stardom is not accepted. That’s my problem".
SRK has been accused of mainstreaming the public relations culture and other gimmicks. But critics argue that Bollywood has always promoted the PR culture. Awards functions have become nonsensical owing to this culture. SRK alone can't be blamed for all this.
SRK will be seen in Atlee's 'Jawan' on September 7. The film co-stars Vijay Sethupathi and Nayanthara. Agnihotri's 'The Vaccine War' will hit the screens on September 28. It will clash with Prabhas 'Salaar'.
