Venkaiah Naidu criticizes filmmakers at ANR's event

Today, a statue of thespian ANR was unveiled at Annapurna Studios marking his 100th birth anniversary. M Venkaiah Naidu was the chief guest.

After the inauguration, the former Vice-President of India pooh-poohed the prevalence of double-meaning dialogues and extreme language in today's films. "Even if such dialogues are not written, it won't make any difference. This is something filmmakers are not getting. Obscenity will spoil our children, the youths, and the family audience. It is for the writers, directors and lyricists to keep in mind that cinema has a great influence on the minds of the audience. Even poor people watch films. More than politics, it is cinema that has a vast social influence," Naidu said.

The event was also attended by SS Rajamouli, Superstar Mahesh Babu, Mega Power Star Ram Charan, and others. Nagarjuna's niece Supriya Yarlagadda was seen receiving guests. She was seen with Namrata Shirodkar and others. Naga Chaitanya and Akhil spoke of how much of an inspiration their grandfather's legacy is.
