Tollywood media's immature obsession with songs of Ram Charan, Mahesh Babu

There was a time when albums used to be released in one go. We used to listen to Mani Sharma's timeless hits, for example, without having to suffer the hullabaloo created by the media. Then came the era of singles. The songs in movies started to be released one at a time. This strategy has served the makers well in keeping their movies in the news cycle for months on end. Good for them!

But the media's obsession with the songs of big-ticket movies has started to get feverish. The Tollywood media, which is always hungry for headline-grabbing (and occasionally pointless) updates, has been writing about the first songs of 'Game Changer' and 'Guntur Kaaram' more than they wrote about the Oscar-winning 'Naatu Naatu'.

'Jaragandi' from Ram Charan's movie has been constantly written about by the Tollywood web media. "Song to arrive for Diwali", "Song postponed from Diwali", "Thaman is unhappy with the song", so on and so forth... The first song of Mahesh Babu's 'Guntur Kaaram' was kept in the news cycle for two months. Producer S Naga Vamsi was asked about the song release on repeat at pressers.

In the entire country, Tollywood media is the only media that is insanely obsessed about every damn thing related to big-ticket movies. After a point, you pity this sort of immature, juvenile journalism.
