Gautham Menon reveals why star heroes don't want to do love stories

In his latest interview, Gautham Menon has said that star heroes these days are unwilling to do love stories. Speaking to a YouTube channel, the director expressed that he is not in a position to do romantic dramas mainly because of the unwillingness of the star Tamil heroes to try the genre.

There is a reason why this is happening. "Star heroes are expecting action movies that can be released on a pan-Indian scale. We are living in the era of 'Jawan', 'Vikram' and 'Jailer'. Therefore, heroes don't want to do love stories," Menon said, suggesting that star heroes today want to cater to a wider market.

Perhaps, this is the right time for Menon to do movies with Hindi heroes. In Bollywood, a lot of young talents would be willing to do romantic dramas for the simple reason that they don't have pan-Indian movies in their hands.

Menon's 'Dhruva Natchathiram' will hit the screens on November 24. It stars Vikram in the lead. Ritu Varma and many others are part of the cast. The film was announced in 2016. It was stuck for five years without shooting and post-production.
