In his latest interview, actor Nithiin refused to be labelled as a He Telangana hero. was asked by a scribe about being the first Telangana hero and how he feels now that the likes of Vijay Deverakonda and Siddhu Jonnalagadda have made a mark in the Telugu film industry as "Telangana heroes".
Replying to the question, Nithiin said, "I have never viewed myself as a Telangana hero. I have been in the industry for two decades now. I never see myself as a Telangana or an Andhra hero. That doesn't even occur to me."
Nithiin has assumed neutral slang in his movies. On the other hand, Vijay and Siddhu have revelled in speaking in a distinct Telangana dialect. When Nithiin debuted with 'Dil' twenty years ago, the T sentiment was nearly absent. The Telangana statehood movement was yet to be born.
On the work front, Nithiin will be seen in the role of a junior artist in 'Extra'. The December 8th release is directed by Vakkantham Vamsi. Sree Leela is its heroine. Harris Jayaraj and Yuvaraj C are its music director and cinematographer, respectively. Chammak Chandra, Rao Ramesh, Rohini and others are part of the cast.
