'Saindhav': Director says bullet's exit from buttocks is possible

In a specific scene from Venkatesh's 'Saindhav,' an antagonist experiences the unfortunate event of being struck by a bullet fired into his mouth. The bullet exits from his buttocks. At first glance, this seems like an implausible feat. However, director Sailesh Kolanu wasn't under the influence of anything when conceptualizing and filming the shot. According to Kolanu, the scenario is physically plausible.

"Since I like explaining things, let me start this. Generally if you shoot someone in the mouth the bullet should exit from the back of the head, but if you make the person sit in a specific angle and shove the barrel of the gun enough into the mouth and point the barrel down by about 80 degrees, the bullet now has access to most of your vital organs situated in the torso," he said today.

He further wrote that the bullet is poised to penetrate either the trachea or esophagus, contingent on the horizontal angle. Subsequently, it will traverse through the liver, then the pancreas, and potentially reach the heart. Continuing its trajectory, it will seamlessly cut through the large and small intestines in a direct line—deviating from the conventional route akin to how onion pakodi traverses your digestive tract—ultimately navigating into the colon and making its exit through the lower orifice of the body. "Achieving such precision requires considerable expertise, a skill honed through diligent practice," he explained, providing intricate details about the scene.
