Vishwak Sen's 'Gaami' is slated to hit the screens on March 8. In his latest interview, the 'Das Ka Dhamki' actor revealed that he didn't charge a single rupee to do the ambitious film that was in the making for about five years.
"Time is the biggest investment that 'Gaami' has demanded. When director Vidyadhar Kagita approached me for this film after watching my first film, 'Vellipomakey' (in 2018), 'Ee Nagaraniki Emaindi' hadn't yet been released in theatres. I knew that 'Gaami' would take years to be completed. I maintained the same physical style throughout the making. Consistency was the key," Sen, known for hits like 'Ashoka Vanamlo Arjuna Kalyanam', says.
UV Creations is releasing this movie produced by Karthik Kult Kreations. The film is presented by V Celluloid. Its trailer, at more than three minutes, is goading people to watch it in theatres. Sen has been brutally honest in setting the right expectations. He told the audience not to expect typical elements (read item songs, mass action and punchlines). Rather than a regular Telugu film, you can expect its screenplay to resemble the 'Dunkirk' template.
With Chandini Chowdary as the leading lady, 'Gaami' also features MG Abhinaya, Harika Pedada, and Mohammad Samad. The cinematography is by Vishwanath Reddy and Rampy Nandigam. The music is by Naresh Kumaran.
