People's Star Sandeep Kishan's landmark 30th film 'Majaka' is directed by Dhamaka maker Trinadha Rao Nakkina. This film is produced by Rajesh Danda under AK Entertainments and Hasya Movies banners. Balaji Gutha is the co-producer. Ritu Varma is the heroine in this mass entertainer. Anshu of Manmadhudu fame and Rao Ramesh are playing key roles. The teaser and song that have already been released have received a tremendous response. This highly entertaining movie will be released grandly in theaters on February 26 as a Shivaratri gift. On this occasion, hero Sandeep Kishan shared the film's highlights at a press conference.
Can Majaka be considered the first time you are doing a comedy role?
-I have done comedy movies in the past. In Beeruva, my character has a full-length comedy tinge. Venkateshwara Express is a comedy movie, but my character is tense in it. Majaka is the full-length comedy entertainer I have ever done. The character is very energetic.
How was it to work with Rao Ramesh?
-It was very good. Our chemistry worked out very naturally. I believe he has done many good films. This film will bring him more respect as an actor.
Tell us about your character in this?
-My character's name is Krishna. My father and I live as bachelors in the same house. No one invites us for festivals. We appear as father and son who drink together. There will be many surprises in the film. There will be a lot of fun entertainment. Majaka is a clean comedy entertainer. It will be a laugh ride.
About Leon James Music?
-I like Leon's music very much. His music brings freshness to this film. I asked for a blockbuster album, but there was no time to take the songs to the public. However, the songs Bebamma and Sommasilli Potunnave are reaching people fast. The reach will increase further after the movie is released.
The reason for doing a movie with father-son emotion?
-My last four films are in a serious tone. I wanted to do a good family entertainer, so I did Majaka. It was lucky that Trinadh Rao and Prasanna came together for this. This film has a concept that has never been seen before. It will surprise the audience. This film was made with the intention of making a film that everyone can watch together.
How does it feel to reach the 30th milestone?
-Thirty films in 15 years. This is a very interesting adventurous journey. I am moving forward with full dedication to the profession I love, giving more priority to cinema than my family. I am happy that I have introduced good stories, many new directors, and new talent in this journey.
Do you have dream movies?
-I like period movies. I want to do a movie like Robin Hood. I have always wanted to do a Robin Hood story with a fantasy element. I also want to do a love story like Ranjhana.
Whose choice was it to take Anshu?
-It was the director and Prasanna's choice. I thought of an actress like Sangeeta. But the director and Prasanna gave a good idea. How can Rao Ramesh fall in love with a girl like Anshu? That's where the comedy will come in, they said. It worked out wonderfully.
About Ritu Varma?
-Ritu has added a freshness to this film. These kinds of movies are new to her. Our characters came out very beautifully.
How was it to work with Trinath Rao Nakkina?
-I have liked Trinath Rao for a long time. His first film 'Mem Vayasuku Vacham' is a beautiful film. I have liked him since then. Even if that story is told now, people will watch it. Trinath knows the grammar of the film. He knows how to make a scene work. That's why I think he's hitting back-to-back blockbusters.
What is your favorite dialogue in this?
-There is a Khushi reference scene in this. I ask 'What happened, Dad?' when my father is shaken after seeing my waist. 'The Pithapuram MLA was very scared at that time after seeing such things, I understand now' is the dialogue. But the dialogue was censored (laughs).
About producers?
-Rajesh and Anil are like home production to me. One is like an elder brother and the other is like a friend. We work together very positively.
How was it to show the shooting live?
-I was very surprised to know that it was the first time that the shooting was shown live. It got a very good response.
About Vijay's son Sanjay's movie?
-Shooting has started. This is a very good movie. It's a new age action entertainer. Sanjay is working very hard for the movie. He is working day and night. I am very happy to work with such a first-time director. It is a Telugu Tamil bilingual.
About new projects?
-Sanjay's movie is going on. There is a series on Netflix. And Family Man 3 is coming soon.
