BJP Rajya Sabha MP GVL is a Telugu politician who was elected to this seat from Uttar Pradesh quota. He is from Prakasam district and he doesn't have a history of contesting from Telugu states but he has always been in one or the other controversy concerning Telugu politics.
Now, he seems to have developed a sudden fondness for Vishakapatnam. Even Vijay Sai Reddy replied sarcastically in Rajya Sabha recently when GVL was interfering in his questions, saying that he understands why GVL is so much focused on Vizag these days.
Sources say that given BJP's earlier track record of success here, the high command may be fielding him from the MP seat of Vizag in 2024 Lok Sabha elections. This could be one reason why he is keen on talking about anything related to this port city these days.
