The upcoming MLC elections in North Andhra for graduates, scheduled to commence on the 13th of this month, have become prestigious for the political parties. The candidates include Sithamraju Sudhakar from YSRCP, Chiranjeevi Rao from TDP, sitting MLC PVS Madhav from BJP, and Koredla Rama Prabha from PDF, all of whom are considered strong contenders.
However, there are some doubts about the parties' chances. From the ruling YCP's point of view, being in power and having Sudhakar, who hails from the Brahmin community, as a candidate are definite advantages. TDP's Chiranjeevi Rao has a good reputation as an educationist, and the Turpu Kapu community is quite strong in the region, which may give him an edge.
Madhav, who belongs to the Velama caste, comes from a family with a good reputation in the region, which could work in his favor as well. His father, PV Chalapathi Rao, is well-regarded by the people. PDF is considered the strength of Rama Prabha, as the party is quite strong in North Andhra.
While Rama Prabha herself belongs to the Velama community, her husband Gangarao Yadav is from the Yadava community. Some previous PDF candidates have contested elections in the area, and Rama Prabha is hoping to benefit from the party's traditional vote bank. Overall, the graduate elections in North Andhra are shaping up to be quite interesting, and the final result is still uncertain.
