There are rumors of early elections in Andhra Pradesh, with some political pundits speculating that Chief Minister Jagan's unpredictable decisions and visits to Delhi suggest that an early election may be on the horizon. However, some members of the YCP have dismissed these rumors, including Senior Minister Botsa Satyanarayana and Youth Minister Gudivada Amarnath, who both stated that elections will be held according to schedule in March 2024.
Ex-minister Balineni Srinivasa Reddy also dismissed the rumors, stating that they are a media creation and that the government has no plans for early elections. Many YCP ministers and MLAs share this view, believing that the final year before the election is crucial for showing progress and development in their constituencies.
However, there are also critics of the YCP who are posting on social media questioning why a government with a mandate of five years would call for early elections after just four years. Ultimately, the decision to hold early elections lies with the YCP leadership, and if they believe it is necessary to win, then there may be a chance of an early election. Many feel that may be for now, his own leaders may still have not been on board with his probable decision.
