It appears that Ch Ramoji Rao, the media tycoon and chairman of Eenadu group, who has been facing difficulties from the Andhra Pradesh Crime Investigation Department in connection with the Margadarsi Chit Funds case, has received full support from the Narendra Modi government at the national level.

This was evident when the Prime Minister gave special recognition to Ramoji Rao in his monthly program, Mann Ki Baat, for his active involvement in promoting the Swachh Bharat Mission. According to reports from New Delhi, the Prime Minister, in his 100th episode of Mann Ki Baat, which will be aired on April 30, praised Ramoji Rao for giving wide coverage to the Swachh Bharat Mission through his media organization.

Modi stated, "Ramoji Rao has been personally promoting the Swachh Bharat program as a people's movement. Despite his old age, he is working like a young man to promote the program."

The fact that Modi himself praised Ramoji Rao reflects the influence the media mogul holds at the national level. As long as he enjoys protection from the central government, it is unlikely that any national agency will target him in the near future, experts say.

Although the Andhra CID authorities are attempting to disrupt his financial network by targeting the Margadarsi Chit Funds company, it may not have a significant impact on him if he is protected by the central government. It remains to be seen if Vundavalli Arun Kumar, who initially brought up the Margadarsi case, will finally find relief.
