Posters welcoming Narreddy Sunitha Reddy, daughter of the slain former MP Y S Vivekananda Reddy, into the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) have appeared on the walls of Proddatur town, sparking political speculation.
The posters feature Sunitha wearing a yellow TDP scarf and include photos of TDP leaders N Chandrababu Naidu, Nara Lokesh, K Atchen Naidu, and others. The TDP has denied any involvement in the posters and has accused the YSR Congress party of being behind them in an attempt to create disturbances in the town and distract from the Viveka murder case, which has reached a decisive stage.
There have been rumors in the media that Naidu is in touch with Sunitha and pressuring her to contest the Kadapa Lok Sabha elections on a TDP ticket, with YSRC leaders alleging that Sunitha is being manipulated by Naidu.
