Telugu Desam Party President N Chandrababu Naidu's recent remarks, praising Prime Minister Narendra Modi and supporting his policies, have generated more enemies than friends. Previously, social and political activists showed a soft corner towards Naidu because of their opposition to Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy.
However, now, many of these individuals are angry with Naidu. Even Communist parties that extended their support to Naidu are now criticising him. The Communist Party of India (Marxist) launched a scathing attack on Naidu for supporting the BJP-led Modi government at the Centre. CPI (M) leaders Tammineni Veerabhadram and Srinivasa Rao criticised Naidu's statement and questioned the development promised by Modi.
Tammineni said that Modi had failed to provide housing for the poor, double farmers' income, and introduce bullet trains by 2022. He also questioned whether Naidu was travelling by bullet train. Srinivasa Rao pointed out that Naidu opposed the privatisation of a steel plant but supported it when the Modi government was proceeding with it.
According to Tammineni, Naidu is seeking an opportunity to regain power in Andhra Pradesh and is only talking about the Modi vision. Srinivasa Rao believes that both Modi and Naidu lack vision, but division.
However, CBN's desperation to reunite with Modi is ending up with inviting more insult than anything else.
