Is the TDP’s latest move only to woo the BJP?

For a long time, there have been talks that the TDP is trying its best to get close to the BJP at both the national and state levels in order to form alliances in the coming elections with the Janasena to defeat the YSRCP in AP.

Today, replying to an invitation sent to the TDP to attend the inauguration of the new Parliament building on May 28 in Delhi, the party chief and TDP national president, N Chandrababu Naidu, accepted the invitation and confirmed the presence of Rajya Sabha member Kanakamedala Ravindra Kumar to attend the function on behalf of the party.

Ever since, this news has fuelled rumours about parties’ alliances in the coming elections.

On Wednesday, YS Jaganmohan Reddy, the leader of the YSRCP and the chief minister of Andhra Pradesh, said the party would be present at the inaugural event. In fact, he tweeted that it would go against democratic principles to skip a ceremonial event planned to dedicate the Parliament Bhavan to the country and urged all political parties to put their differences aside and show up.
