Date locked for Jagan’s visit to Polavaram

Andhra Pradesh state Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy's visit to Polavaram has been fixed for June 6. The CM will reach the Polavaram project at 10.15 a.m. on Tuesday. He will reach Polavaram via a special helicopter from Amaravati. Officials are already setting up a helipad at the Polavaram project. During this visit, Jagan will inspect the lower and upper coffer dams of the Polavaram project.

Officials say that Jagan will also visit the spillway and earth-cum-Rock fill dam areas. After visiting the Polavaram project, Jagan will have a meeting with the officials and engineers of the water resources department at the project to learn about the progress of the Polavaram project. Ahead of the CM’s visit, Water Resources Minister Ambati Rambabu visited Polavaram on Saturday and inspected the works of the project.

Minister Ambati held a review meeting with the officials and suggested making arrangements for Jagan's visit. Recently, a key meeting was held in Delhi under the chairmanship of Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekawat on the Polavaram project.

In this meeting, the AP government was advised to complete Polavaram work quickly. He expressed his displeasure over the delay in Polavaram project work. On the other hand, AP officials have requested the release of funds worth Rs. 17 thousand crore for Polavaram project works. It seems that the Union Minister has promised to release the funds soon.

Recently, BJP Rajya Sabha member GVL Narsimha Rao also gave clarity on the release of Polavaram funds. He said that the centre will soon release the funds for Polavaram. It is noteworthy that a meeting was held in Delhi recently, and Jagan will be visiting in order to release the funds for Polavaram soon.
