CM Jagan gears up for Amma Vodi. CM Jagan is known for many innovative and incredible welfare schemes for the benefit of the weaker sections of society. According to the latest, CM Jagan will be launching Amma Vodi on 28 June for the coming academic year.
Jagananna Amma Vodi which benefits Class I to XII students will be launched on 28 June with much fanfare. Amma Vodi is part of the YSRC government’s Navaratnalu, and it encourages parents below the poverty line to send their children to school and college by depositing 15,000 into the bank account of the student's mother or recognized guardian.
Praveen Prakash, principal secretary (School Education), issued an order according to which mothers, whose children are studying in Classes I to XII during 2022–23 but have not been covered in the Amma Vodi list of 2021–2022, will be identified for extending the financial benefit.
The eligibility criteria will be like total family income per month is limited to 10,000 in rural areas and 12,000 in urban areas, and the property being less than 1,000 square feet. Class X students opting for IIT / polytechnic and other courses, who are eligible for Jagananna Vidya Deevena and Jagananna Vasathi Deevena schemes, will be excluded from Amma Vodi.
2,000 will be deducted at source from each beneficiary student and released to school/college committee accounts of government and government-aided schools/colleges.Mothers/guardians, who are getting the benefit under the scheme and sending their children to private, unaided schools / colleges, will also face deduction of 2,000.
