CID case against Chandra Babu to be heard

CID case against Chandra Babu to be heard. It is known that AP CID registered a case against former CM, TDP chief Chandra Babu Naidu after it got clearance from the ACB court on 20 June to attach the guest house in which TDP chief and ex-Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu resided until 2019. The house, located on the Krishna River bank, was ordered to be attached by a court of the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB).

Senior advocate Dammalapati Srinivas, appearing for Chandrababu Naidu and former municipal administration minister P Narayana argued that the case is not valid and Mangalagiri MLA Alla Ramakrishna Reddy lodged a false complaint out of political vendetta and CID quickly registered it.

He said" GO 41 issued on February 17, 2016, with regard to assigned lands, was issued with genuine reason and no officials of the departments concerned had raised any objections in their note files." He requested the Court to dismiss the case. However the CID said The objective behind the GO was to protect assigned lands and pointed out that only after 32 days after GO was issued, the then Chief Minister had ratified it.

Justice VRK Krupa Sagar on Thursday adjourned the case and he will be hearing the case today. It is known that MLA Ramakrishna Reddy lodged a complaint against the former CM and the minister in February 2021 stating that there were irregularities in assigned lands in Amaravathi and the CID registered a case against Naidu and Narayana in March 2021. Cases were also registered against Narayana under SC, ST Act and Assigned LandsTransfer (Prohibition ) Act.
