Speaking at the pre-release event of 'Bro', Pawan Kalyan said that star costume designer Neeta Lulla's insistence is what made him opt for modish clothing in the film. As a professional designer, Lulla wanted Power Star to look stylish on screen. However, said Pawan, he was reluctant.
"As you all know, I am the kind of person who walks into film sets in casual wear that I wear at home. Neeta Lulla ma'am wanted me to wear designer shoes and clothing in 'Bro'. I told her I will just look the way I am in real life. But she wanted it otherwise. If I am looking fashionable in the film, it's because of her work," the actor-politician said.
Pawan spoke as if he is some saintly person who likes to look simple even in a commercial film meant to mint crores of rupees at the box office. The truth is that he got Neeta Lulla design even his Varahi Yatra dress. As per the costume designer herself in a recent interview, she styled Pawan Kalyan's signature white-on-white look seen in recent political rallies.
There is nothing wrong with wanting to look stylish at political rallies. Even stalwarts like Narendra Modi wear expensive clothes and flaunt their fashion sense. But why make it seem like you are too saintly to want to wear designer clothes even in movies (let alone in political rallies) when you clearly are not?
