Several IT, ITes and BPO sector employees today protested in Hyderabad against Chandrababu Naidu's arrest in connection with the AP Skill Development Scheme scam. The protest at Wipro Circle saw the participation of both male and female employees associated with several IT companies.
It is no secret that software and other high-value employees hold Naidu in high esteem, generally speaking. Several factors, both valid and invalid, have played a role in this. Some of the speakers in the crowd, while speaking to TV channels, proved that they held unreasonable views about Naidu. They lionized Chandrababu Naidu to the point that even the TDP supremo would be stunned by the level of exaggeration on display.
A woman was heard saying that TRS leaders KCR and KTR are mum on the arrest because they want Naidu to be condemned into oblivion. "If Naidu becomes the AP CM, all investments will rush to AP immediately. And Telangana will suffer if that happens. That's why KCR and KTR are not speaking out against Naidu's arrest," she said.
Another employee opined that they were holding the protest on a road gifted to them by Naidu. His utterance goes to show that the IT crowd has a highly exaggerated view of the contributions made by before 2004. Naidu has had nothing to do with Hyderabad in the last 20 years.
