It is no secret that the Aam Aadmi Party is becoming a big force following the decline of Congress in North India. The party is now looking to expand down the south and naturally it is eyeing Telugu states. In Andhra Pradesh, AAP plans to field a new face to shoulder the party’s responsibilities and sources say it may be the ex-Joint Director of CBI, V V Lakshmi Narayana.

Lakshmi Narayana earlier contested for Vizag Parliament seat from Jana Sena and got about 2.88 Lakh votes in a triangular fight. Later he left Jana Sena in January 2020 and he is also maintaining distance from mainstream politics.

However, the former CBI officer wants to represent Vizag as MP and is planning to contest again in 2024 and now AAP has reportedly approached him. This may provide a fresh approach for AAP’s plans in the state of AP.
