Sowmya Shetty has been a well-followed social media influencer. She has also acted in a few less-known Telugu movies. On Sunday, the starlet was arrested by the Vizag police in connection with the alleged theft of gold from the house of a retired postal employee named Janapal Prasad Babu.
The accused, who is yet to issue a statement at the time of writing this news, allegedly stole one kilogram of gold from the victim's residence in Dondaparthi. She didn't do it in one go. As per the police, she did it on four different days.
After stealing the gold, she allegedly travelled to Goa to party hard after monetizing the stolen jewelry.
Apparently, when the investigation was begun, the police didn't suspect Sowmya. They zeroed in on her after conducting a preliminary investigation. The incident has come as a shocker. It's an instance of a known person betraying the trust reposed by someone. Apparently, the accused befriended Prasad's daughter years ago.
