Janasena chief Pawan Kalyan has announced that he will be contesting from Pithapuram in the coming elections. This might have pleased the minor populous of the JSP population locally but this has turned out to be a catastrophic move.
Firstly, the local TDP leader MVSN Varma who had been in the root level operations of TDP for the last few years is gutted by this announcement from Pawan Kalyan. His cadres have started to shout and abuse Chandrababu, Nara Lokesh, and Pawan Kalyan. He has called for a meeting with his cadres today and didn't even pay heed to Chandrababu Naidu's phone calls as the latter tried to pacify him.
Then came the master stroke from Jagan Mohan Reddy who has acted swiftly on this matter. Jagan has assigned the responsibility of overseeing YSRCP activities in Pithapuram to his trusted delegate Peddireddy Midhun Reddy.
Vanga Geetha, who is confirmed to contest from here on YCP ticket has been invited to meet the chief minister and she will be doing so soon. She could be instructed about working the strategies of YCP in this constituency and related arrangements will be overseen by Midhun Reddy.
With the internal clashes in TDP and a trademark power move from Jagan Mohan Reddy, Pawan's chances of winning from Pithapuram are indeed shady. The only equation that has been worked out by JSP is the presence of the kapu community here and this might be the only saving factor for him, but will it be sufficient?
