The Telugu Desam Party is widely being seen as a gone case in Andhra Pradesh politics and there is a lot of discussion about the polling percentage that this party will manage in the coming elections.
Historically speaking, TDP had always survived on anti incumbency rather than their own strengths. The fact that the party went down to 39% vote percentage in 2019 after being in power since 2014 proves the same.
Coming to the topic, there is a discussion on whether or not TDP will be able to touch the 40% vote percentage in AP in the elections.
TDP is in alliance with the JSP and BJP both of which were insignificant in the 2019 elections. Even if there’s a vote transfer between these parties, the end results would be clearly in favor of the YCP.
So the end question is - can TDP actually touch the 40% vote share in AP? We shall wait and see.
