YSRCP says 'Egg puffs' story is purely sensationalism, baseless

It has been reported by the media that former AndhraPradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy's office spent Rs 3.62 Cr on Egg Puffs from 2019 to 2024. "This curious case adds to ongoing investigations into alleged misuse of funds, including inflated security costs and luxury expenses," a tweet by a journalist says.

Reacting to the mud-slinging, the YSRCP today hit out at the propagation of fake news. The Opposition party said that it was truly disappointing that the media fell for such baseless rumors without verifying facts or citing credible sources.

"How can one tweet such blatant misinformation without any confirmation or evidence? Taking random information from social media and turning them into 'news' is a disservice to journalism. It's a pity that sensationalism is being prioritised over the truth. Let’s focus on facts, not fabricated stories," the party added.

The Egg puffs story has come with claims without proof, the party suggested.
