Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has been ailing. The rumour is that he is suffering from Parkinson's disease. At an election rally today, the BJD supremo could be seen trembling. His hands were not still as he addressed the crowds.
What is even more shocking is that his second-in-command, VK Pandian, could be seen trying to hide his hands from cameras. The video is nothing less than poignant and worrying. For the unversed, Odisha is going to Assembly elections simultaneously alongside Lok Sabha. In this aspect, Odisha is similar to Andhra Pradesh. Doubts are now being expressed about whether Patnaik will be in a position to be the CM if his party wins the polls. Pandian will replace him.
"It's not about age but health condition. Making Naveen Babu actively participate in an election campaign is not good. Even his voice is shaking," wrote a social media user. "Naveen Babu does not look fit physically to be a CM again. He has become just like a stamp and face. Pandian looks worried and seems like he wants this election to be over ASAP. May the people of Odisha see the cunning and vote for change," wrote Shrin, a BJP supporter.
The BJP is in contention this season. The party is confident of trouncing the BJD in the Assembly elections.
